Was the Mona Lisa Leonardo Da Vinci Himself?

I heard for a little bit that scientists figured out that the Mona Lisa was in fact Leonardo that he made himself a female in the picture. It kind of makes sense to me because Mona Lisa was the only women himself..so basically I think the message is..I love me! =D What do you guys think?
