Why have an oophorectomy and not a hysterectomy?

Most times when the uterus remains it is in women who are still in child bearing age..as it is possible to become pregnant through artificial insemination...if you are past that stage and do not wish to have more children then just tell that your Doctor...I see your concerns why leave it when you do not need it and it just increases chances of a recurring cancer in your cervix or uterus..there is no other medical reason to leave the uterus other than the chance to become pregnant with HRT and artificial insemination...I'm sure when you voice your concern your wishes will be taken into consideration...good luck to you and I wish you a healthy and speedy recovery..
