Is Revelations 13, 10 referring to Satan's Secret society and spiritual captivity to Witchcraft?

Revelation is not prophesy. It's a book meant to comfort other Christians during oppressive rule under the Roman Empire (which didn't last that long, historically. Mostly just Nero and Caligula). It's not even terribly subtle. But disguising your anti-goverment tract as apocalyptic literature was one way to avoid being killed by them. Christianity survived the Roman Empire, and 1900 years later people think it's actually about a spooky doomsday conspiracy.
